I have been practicing as a criminal lawyer for 15 years,

I have successfully appeared as lead counsel in a full range of criminal matters, including serious jury trials for:

Homicide, Methamphetamine and other Class A drugs,grievous bodily harm, rape, sexual violation and indecent assault, allegations of historical sexual abuse, white collar crimes, drug dealing, drug cultivation and manufacture, money laundering, firearms offences, perjury, perverting the course of justice.

I  have appeared in the senior appellate courts including a numerous appearances before the Court of Appeal.

In 2000 I was appointed as a Senior Crown Counsel and continued as a Crown Prosecutor until 2004. I then set up as a Defence Barrister.

I have been a faculty member of the NZ Law Society Litigation Skills program since 2007. I have regularly attended further NZ Law society training programs for litigators including the expert witness program and I have attended further training overseas, in particularly attending a course in the Hague, Netherlands training practitioners for the International Criminal Court, the program was run by the Columbia (USA) Law School .
